Confidence in His Promises

Being confident in this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6

Sometimes we lack confidence in ourselves and even in our God. We may question things in our lives or in the lives of those we love. We may even become disappointed and discouraged while we wait. Paul knew this well as he wrote these words from a prison cell. However, in his darkest moments, he was able to see the light. He was able to see purpose in the pain and the perfecting. I wonder today if we can say the same? Are we confident (having full assurance, no uncertainty) that God has begun (started) a good (morally excellent, pleading, righteous) work (task, process, undertaking) in our lives? And that He will (promises) to complete (finish, make whole or perfect) it. We can trust with full assurance that Jesus is true to His word. If He begins something, He will not just finish it, but He will perfect it. Do you feel some perfecting going on? If so, hold Him to His promise. Don’t allow yourself to become discouraged. Be encouraged that He promised, He is faithful, and He will do it!
